1. Onboarding Verification & Compliance (KYC)
To open a website instance on Nile, you must pass our onboarding verification audit. You must submit valid tax identification coordinates, legal business documentation, and proof of active banking routing credentials. Nile reserves the right to halt settlements or suspend store visibility if Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification cannot be completed.
2. Payout Schedules & Gateways Settlements
Payments collected via Nile Payments are processed using verified gateway routers. Payout clearances are completed according to regional cycles: US and UK orders settle on a T+2 business day schedule, while Nigerian and Ghanaian orders clear on a T+1 schedule via local bank transfer. Nile reserves the right to delay settlements in the event of high chargeback rates or pending fraud audits.
3. Chargeback Liability & Reserve Escrows
The merchant assumes full liability for all chargebacks, transaction disputes, and buyer fraud claims. If chargeback rates exceed 0.8% of monthly volume, Nile reserves the right to institute a rolling reserve escrow (withholding up to 10% of transaction settlements for a 90-day period) to cover dispute liabilities.
4. Intellectual Property & Store Autonomy
You retain full ownership of all logos, trademarks, and listing media uploaded to your Nile store. Nile retains all rights to the underlying software architecture, CSS design systems, and AI models. You may not reverse-engineer, export code blocks, or replicate Nile's layout for deployment on external hosting setups.
